I currently live in Carrollton so driving to this course from where I live is at LEAST an hour. I wouldn't drive that far just to play a round. I played here because of a tournament. I drove to my wife's grandfather's house in Mesquite and rode with him to the course and it was still at least 20-30 minutes away from there. Now, as far as the tournament goes, they treated us well. As far as the pro shop goes, HOMER CITY. They had these Titleist caps for sale and there were nothing but Texas teams on the table (and plenty of them-which told me nobody was buying them). The pro shop is very small and the bar/grill area is even smaller. As far as the menu is concerned, you're limited as to what you can get. They have beer and liquor there, but you're limited as to what you can get there, too. I thought the beer selection was pretty good considering how small the bar/grill area was.

Designed for wind play. Par 5s are very difficult into the wind.

Only thing wrong like several courses in our area cart signs to far out in the fairway app. 100 yards leads to slow play. Average golfer does not hit a lot of greens in reg so you walk up and back or park and walk 50 yards. What is so special about those 50 yards that they don't want carts driving.

Day 29 - 100 days, 100 courses (Thursday, April 11, 2019)
After playing in the 80’s the last few days, the heat broke and it was 71 when we teed off and about 65 when we finished. Wearing shorts, I was actually cold. But I soldiered on and played some golf.
If you look past the trappings you can see that Buffalo Creek has some good bones. They are working on upgrades but there is a lot to do (the starter told us to lift out of the traps).
In spite of that we had an enjoyable round. A variety of challenging holes kept it interesting. I played well shooting a 90 while losing 3 balls. Dinner with Randy and lovely wife afterward was very enjoyable. One more day in the Dallas metro area and then it’s on to Austin.
